Best Time to Surf in Aourir & Taghazout: The Ultimate Swell Guide
"Plan your Morocco surf trip with our guide to swell seasons: from powerful winter rollers to consistent summer peaks for all levels."
The Winter Season: A Paradise for Advanced Surfers
From November to March, Morocco's Atlantic coast sees its most powerful and consistent swells. This is when Banana Point and Anchor Point reach their full potential with long, hollow walls of water.
It is the prime time for experienced and intermediate surfers hunting size and power. While temperatures remain mild, a 3/2mm or 4/3mm wetsuit is recommended to maximize your time in the water.
Spring and Summer: Ideal for Beginners
From April to September, swells are generally smaller and more manageable. This is the perfect window for beginners to learn or for intermediate surfers to refine their technique on Aourir's sandy breaks.
The vibe is more relaxed, the sun is constant, and the waves are gentler, making learning enjoyable and less intimidating. This is the peak season for families and first-timers.
