Complete Aourir Surf Guide: Banana Point, Devils Rock & Best Atlantic Breaks
"Everything you need to know about surfing in Aourir and Taghazout Bay: swell seasons, tides, wind patterns, and a comprehensive spot guide for Banana Point, Devils Rock, and Panoramas."
Banana Point: Aourir's Iconic Right-Hander
Located at the river mouth south of Banana Village, Banana Point is a consistent right-hand point break favored for its long peeling walls and forgiving cobblestone-and-sand bottom.
It breaks best on mid to low tides with northwest Atlantic swells. Less punishing than Anchor Point, it provides rideable walls extending 200 to 400 meters, making it beloved by longboarders and progressing shortboarders alike.
Other Premier Surf Spots Around Aourir
Devils Rock (Km 14): Located at Tamraght, just 3 minutes north of Aourir, featuring punchy beach break peaks and a rocky wedge that generates fast, hollow sections.
K17 & K12: Gentle sandy beach breaks ideal for beginners and progression coaching, with zero hazardous reefs.
Anchor Point & Boilers: Located 10 to 15 minutes north for seasoned surfers hunting double-overhead barrels on major Atlantic winter swells.
